1. Who we are

BAC Transport (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2020/082600/07, is a South African road freight operator at 28 San Croy Office Park, 25 Die Agora Road, Croydon, South Africa. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to BAC Transport (Pty) Ltd. We are the responsible party for the personal information described here.

2. What we collect

We collect only what you choose to send us, and only what we need in order to reply.

• What you type into an enquiry form: your name, email address, telephone number, company name, subject and message, together with the record that you ticked the consent box.
• Technical details attached to that submission: the page the form was sent from, a request reference, the result of the anti-spam checks, and your IP address. These accompany the enquiry so we can answer it and so we can tell a real enquiry from automated abuse.
• Anything you send us directly by telephone, WhatsApp or email.

We do not ask for identity numbers, banking details or any special personal information through this website, and you should not send them to us through it.

3. Why we use it

We use the information you send for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and to carry out any transport work that follows from it. That is the basis on which you gave consent, and we hold ourselves to it.

We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.

4. Who processes it on our behalf

We do not disclose your information to third parties for their own purposes. A small number of service providers process it strictly on our instruction, in order to make the website and our mailbox work:

• Microsoft. This website is hosted on Microsoft Azure, and enquiry notifications are delivered to our own mailbox through Microsoft 365.
• Cloudflare. Pages carrying an enquiry form load Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-spam check that distinguishes people from automated scripts. To do that, Cloudflare receives your IP address and technical signals from your browser, and may set its own cookie. This runs only on pages with a form.

Where these providers process information outside South Africa, they do so under contractual terms requiring protection comparable to that required by POPIA.

5. Cookies and tracking

We set no cookies of our own. This website runs no analytics, no advertising trackers and no social media pixels, and it loads no fonts, scripts or images from anyone else. The only third-party request the site makes is the Cloudflare anti-spam check described above, and only on pages that carry a form.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept in our mailbox for as long as the enquiry, and any work or record-keeping obligation arising from it, requires. Anti-spam rate-limiting records hold no readable identifier: your IP address is stored only as an irreversible cryptographic hash, and those records expire automatically within hours.

7. How we protect it

The website is served only over an encrypted connection. Enquiries are transmitted to our own systems and delivered to a mailbox under our control, protected by the access controls of our Microsoft 365 tenant. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect what you send us.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• ask what personal information we hold about you, and request access to it;
• ask us to correct or update anything inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
• ask us to delete information we no longer have grounds to keep;
• object to our processing, or withdraw your consent at any time;
• complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Withdrawing consent will not undo processing already carried out lawfully, and may mean we can no longer answer an open enquiry.

10. The Information Regulator

If you believe we have processed your personal information unlawfully, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, whose contact details are published at inforegulator.org.za. We would appreciate the chance to resolve the matter with you first.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in how the website works or what the law requires. The current version is always the one published here, and the date at the top records when it last changed.
